High-rise windows cleaned on ropes

We clean windows and façades on London buildings using IRATA rope access. No scaffold, no cradle, no road closure. A Level 3 supervisor works on the ropes on every job.

Why rope access

Faster to set up, easier on the building

Lower cost

No scaffold hire, no cradle, no MEWP. For most cleaning work, rope access is the cheapest safe way to reach the façade.

Minimal disruption

We rig from the roof and work down. No structures blocking windows or entrances, and usually no pavement licence.

Quick to start

Our team can rig and start working within hours of arriving, then de-rig the same day.

Recognised by HSE

IRATA rope access is accepted by the HSE as a safe system of work at height when a risk assessment shows it is the right method.

How a job runs

From enquiry to sign-off

  1. Survey and quote

We check the roof, anchor points and façade, then send a fixed price.

  2. RAMS issued

You receive the method statement, risk assessment and rescue plan before work starts.

  3. Rig and work

An IRATA team led by a Level 3 supervisor carries out the work, drop by drop.

  4. Sign-off

We walk the building with your site contact and confirm the job is complete.

Before and after

A whole façade repainted without scaffold

This five-storey period building on a busy London street was scraped back, repaired and repainted entirely from the ropes. The shop below stayed open and the pavement stayed clear.

Then we came back at Christmas and fitted the festive lighting on the same façade. One rope team, one building, from repair to the finished display.

Specialist work

Glass roofs and atriums

Curved and faceted glass roofs are among the hardest surfaces to reach. A cradle can't follow the shape and a cherry picker can't get inside. Our rope team works across the glass and the steel trusses on lines rigged from above, and cleans every pane by hand and with pure water brushes.

The space below stays open. We fence off the area under the work and keep every tool tethered.

Festive lighting installation

Curtain lights, stars and outline lighting on shopfronts and façades, fitted and taken down by our rope team. We work at night when the street is quiet, with the area below fenced off, and rig so the fixings never damage the stonework.

About us

A London rope access team since 2016

Hebros Abseiling Services is an IRATA International member company (no. 8317/O). Our technicians are IRATA trained, and every job is planned and supervised by an IRATA Level 3.

We work for building managers, managing agents, facilities teams and cleaning contractors who need high-level work done safely, with the paperwork in order.

IRATA International member, membership number 8317/O

As an IRATA member company we are audited against the IRATA International Code of Practice, covering training, supervision, equipment and safe systems of work.

Do you work as a subcontractor?

Yes. We carry out rope access work for cleaning and maintenance companies that do not have their own rope teams.

What do you need from us to quote?

The building address, roughly how many floors, and access to the roof for a survey. Photos of the roof and façade help us quote faster.

What if the building has no anchor points?

We can often use temporary dead weight anchor systems on the roof. We check this at the survey.

Can you clean on a regular schedule?

Yes. Many clients book two to four cleans a year at an agreed price.
